September 12, 2023 The Work of Project Transformation Continues–Get Involved!

“The best thing I learned…is to be a leader,” reported a fourth grader attending Project Transformation DC summer camp for the first time in 2023.

Dumbartonians showed up this summer and listened to fidgety five-year-olds, stellar 6th graders, and ages-in-between as they read from their favorite books. Our volunteers commuted from Northern Virginia (sometimes by Metro and bus) and battled DC traffic to make it to Emory Methodist in Northwest DC by 9: 45 on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Project Transformation DC (PTDC) summer camp hosted about 30 kids whose enthusiasm for life knows no limits.

PTDC doesn’t rest on its laurels.  They are launching an after-school program in mid-September focusing on tutoring, homework help, and fun.  Go to their website to learn how you can become involved with PTDC or donate. https://projecttransformation.org/washington-dc/
