Clean Waterways Clean Up: EARTH DAY April 22: 9:00 – 12:00

Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens Dumbarton United Methodist Church
Dumbarton is joining with the National Park Service to help clean up the Anacostia River Watershed by picking up litter and other debris at Kennilworth Park Bandalong Litter Trap at 1500 Deane Ave NE, Washington, DC.
There is plenty of parking. Port-a-johns will be available. Wear clothing suitable for outdoor work and closed toe shoes. Bring water and a positive attitude! If you have gardening or other outdoor work gloves, bring them, as well. Lunch will be provided.
If you have questions, need help with transportation or car pooling, please contact Nancy Holland.
Even if you can’t help with the clean-up, come for lunch. You can include a visit to the Kennilworth Aquatic Gardens or take a bike ride on the Anacostia River Trail.
Background:
Kennilworth Park Bandalong Litter Trap is about 1/4 mile from Kennilworth Aquatic Gardens. If you’ve never been to the Aquatic Garden, it’s worth a visit. The garden is located in NE Washington D.C. south of route 50 and just off the Baltimore Washington Parkway. It’s in the D.C. Kenilworth community and the Anacostia river runs along the park boundary. Interstate 295 runs parallel to it and parking is free.
