Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude

Developing a practice of gratitude takes time, intention, and work, says Dumbartonian Barbara Michelman, but being thankful, showing appreciation, and returning kindness is how she chooses to live her life.

During the Sept. 15, Adult Education time, Michelman shared learnings from her social media/news/LIFE inventory, as well as specific things she does each day to cultivate gratitude, including “staying connected and engaged with my community—like this one!”

Michelman will lead future Adult Education monthly sessions on gratitude, radical joy, and/or hope. With the election looming and the constant talk of a divided country, practicing gratitude may be more important than ever.
