Visiting—What to expect on Sunday mornings

Except in summer (from Memorial Day through Labor Day), Adult Education classes begin each Sunday morning at ten in the church’s Fellowship Hall on the first floor. Worship services are upstairs in the sanctuary every Sunday at 11, generally concluding at noon or a few minutes thereafter. For all Sunday activities at Dumbarton, dress is casual.

Have Kids?

Service Times

Dumbarton offers one worship service each Sunday. Except for the summer months from Memorial Day through Labor Day, when worship begins at 9:30 a.m., all our services begin at 11, usually winding up at noon or a few minutes after, depending on whether there is communion and on the length of congregation members’ sharings of joys and concerns. Adult Education sessions begin at ten each Sunday morning, again except for the summer months from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Our Mission & Vision

At Dumbarton UMC Our vision and mission is to help connect people to faith

Faith is what gives each of us the strength to carry on in the face of grief, doubt, fear, isolation, shame, or unexpected reversal. Dumbarton offers a community that seeks to provide that strength by bringing people together for a deeper understanding of God and scripture to make better sense of their personal experience and the wider world.

Pastor Rev. Rachel Cornwell

Welcome to Dumbarton UMC!

Come as you are and be welcomed.

A Reconciling Congregation

Dumbarton is an inclusive faith community and we have stood for full inclusion of LGBTQ persons since1987.
The church is also a leading advocate for changing national and global United Methodist policies to remove unjust and discriminatory provisions disqualifying openly LGBTQ candidates for the ministry and prohibiting all United Methodist clergy from officiating at same-sex weddings. We believe all people are children of God, and God loves consenting adults no matter whom they love.
