June 22, 2024 Pentecost Worship Series Continues Through June

Fresh Wind, New Fire! Dumbarton’s worship series for Pentecost Season, continues on Sunday, June 22. The sermon title is “Extravagant Generosity,” and draws from Acts 4:32-37.

During Pentecost, our congregation has been participating in an Appreciative Inquiry Process of Discernment. We are asking ourselves and each other: What’s Next? and Where Is God Leading Us Now? as we focus on how the Holy Spirit works in individual lives and in the life of our church.

This process of appreciative inquiry is helping us discern our next faithful steps in mission. Members have been invited to share stories of how experiences in and through Dumbarton have helped them grow in faith and live a transformed life, exploring questions such as:

  • Where have you experienced the presence of God at Dumbarton?
  • What makes you come alive?
  • What are the truths that we are willing to stake our lives on?
  • What’s something we have at Dumbarton that people can’t find any place else?

There will be one final  opportunity to contribute to this process via a small group discussion that will be held immediately following worship–bring a bag lunch!

Reminder: In the summer, worship starts at 10 a.m. Our Adult Ed programming is taking a much-needed summer break, but childcare is always provided during worship!

Don’t forget to come back on Sunday, June 30. The sermon is titled “Hallelujah Anyhow” and draws from Acts 6:8-7:60.
