Sunday Worship

These are challenging times.  During worship through Oct 1, we will explore the stories of people whose courage is inspiring and hope renewing.  We also invite those who gather on Sunday morning to contribute to a congregational witness for hope by writing their own examples of hope which they have witnessed in recent days. We will have paper feathers on which you may write your examples of hope. The feather imagery is taken from Emily Dickinson's poetry: "Hope is the thing with feathers - that perches in the soul..."

The Portraits of Hope for this series will be:

Sept 10 -- The 18 Nuclear Scientists who signed the Gottingen Manifesto

           Sept 17 --  Ida B Wells

Sept 24 -- Bishop Karen Oliveto

Oct 1   --  Martin Luther King, Jr

This Sunday, Sept. 24, we welcome T.C. Morrow to the pulpit as she brings our message this day.  T.C. is a candidate for ministry in the Baltimore-Washington Conference. She is a graduate of Wesley Seminary, a member of Foundry UMC, and on staff with the National Religious Campaign Against Torture. T.C. is active in BWARM and can be found at many social justice marches around the city.
