Don't  miss the these remaining concerts at Dumbarton in the brand new Georgetown Epiphany Festival, directed by A.J. Welch, our own director of music ministry.

Friday, January 11, 7:30 p.m. An Evening of Song: Long a beloved choral work, Brahms’ Liebeslieder Walzer are heard here in their original form for four solo vocalists and four-hands piano. Also featured are songs by Florent Schmitt, and Lili Boulanger, the vibrant French composer whose life was cut tragically short. A.J. Welch will be joined by singers Laura Choi Stuart, Gabriella Solis, Aaron Paige, and Richard Giarusso, as well as pianist Jonathan King.

Sunday, January 13, 4 p.m. Chamber Orchestra: Schoenberg’s gorgeous and lush Opus 9 Kammersymphonie is a bold work that bravely straddles the line between high romanticism and free atonality. Hear it paired with music by Mozart, whose stunning C minor Serenade for 8 winds is featured in its entirety.
